The Safety Joint provides a means for releasing a set of tools that are stuck in the hole.
The Safety Joint is released with left hand rotation with about 20% of the torque required to break other tool joints in the string. The Safety Joint requires 5 1⁄2 to 6 turns of left hand rotation to release.
